SUSTAINABILITY
We see sustainability as an indisputable and non-negotiable guideline for any project, and not as a differentiator or a marketing aspect. We believe that being creative does not mean creating projects with all the resources in the world available, but rather creating projects that are synchronized with the world. Sustainability should not be seen as a limiting factor, but rather as a necessary, guiding factor that is constantly evolving.
Some materials, including surfing materials, are called ecological because they are recyclable. However, a recyclable material is not necessarily recycled. And when we talk about plastic materials, such as EPS from the thermoplastic category, they are currently not recycled because it is not profitable, ending up in landfills, beaches, oceans and even islands that humans have never set foot on. Pretty crazy, right?
Therefore, we think of solutions that truly close their life cycle with the lowest possible environmental impact.
We begin by thinking about the end.
We need to use available resources responsibly and assume the impacts caused not only in the manufacturing process, but also during use and disposal.
We know that using more environmentally friendly materials is not enough to be sustainable. There are several other issues, such as microplastics, carbon emissions, social impact and economic efficiency, that must be considered. And that is why we constantly work to develop solutions that balance all of these points, combined with the quality and performance we seek in surfing.
